Search Console

Google’s own report of how your site does in its results: clicks, impressions, average position, and which queries and pages earned them. Connecting takes three steps and about five minutes, and it is what fills the overview and the traffic screen.

SEO → Connections

  1. Prove the site is yours. Search Console data is private, so Vidrys first checks that you control the site. The screen shows two tokens — a tag to put in your pages’ <head>, or a small file to put at the address shown. Use either, then press Check now. Once found, the site stays verified.

  2. Grant read access. In Search Console, open Settings → Users and permissions → Add user, and add the address the screen shows (there is a Copy button) with Full or Restricted permission. Read-only is all Vidrys uses.

  3. Name the property exactly as Search Console lists it — sc-domain:example.com for a domain property, or https://example.com/ for a URL-prefix property — and press Connect.

The first sync reads up to sixteen months of daily history, so the charts start well before the day you connected. After that, Vidrys syncs every night. Google finalises each day about three days late, so the most recent days on any chart keep moving for a little while.

A monthly check

Once a month Vidrys looks for the ownership token again. If it is gone on two checks running, syncing pauses and the screen says so. Put the token back, press Check now, then Update connection. Nothing already synced is lost.

›Domain property or URL-prefix property?

Whichever you already have in Search Console. A domain property (sc-domain:) covers every subdomain and both http and https; a URL-prefix property covers exactly the address you type. If you have both, the domain property is the fuller picture.

›The site is on a different domain from the one in Settings

The token goes on the site saved under Settings → Brand → Website. Change that first, then verify.

›Can I skip the token if I have already added the user?

No. Read access proves Google trusts you; the token proves the site is yours to this workspace. Both are needed before a property is saved.

Vidrys SEO for WordPress

On WordPress, the free Vidrys SEO plugin is how the fixes you approve get made on your site — no code, no keys to copy. Its card shows how to install it and, once connected, the switch that pauses it. See Vidrys SEO for WordPress.

Vidrys for Shopify

On Shopify, the Vidrys app does the same for your store, with its own page inside your Shopify admin. See Vidrys for Shopify.

Vidrys for Wix

On Wix, Connect Wix installs the Vidrys app on your site through Wix's own installer and brings you back connected. See Vidrys for Wix.

Squarespace

On a Squarespace store, a Developer API key lets Vidrys fix your product pages' SEO titles and descriptions. See Squarespace.

Cloudflare

For any site on Cloudflare — custom-built included — Vidrys serves the fixes you approve from a Worker on your Cloudflare account. Its card shows what the Worker serves, with switches to pause it and to send AI crawlers' visits to AI logs. See Cloudflare.

Bing Webmaster Tools

Under Other search engines, Bing Webmaster Tools reads Bing’s own report of your site — clicks, impressions, top searches and pages — every night, and shows it on Organic traffic beside Google’s. It uses your own API key: in Bing Webmaster Tools open Settings → API access and copy the key, then enter your site and the key and press Connect Bing. The site must be verified in Bing first; importing it from Google Search Console is the quickest way. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again; Disconnect forgets it, and keeps what Bing already reported.

IndexNow

IndexNow tells Bing, Yandex and the other engines that take part that a page changed, the moment an SEO fix or a page written from a keyword brief goes live, so they come back for it in hours rather than weeks. To turn it on, publish a text file holding only the key the card shows, at the address it shows (your site’s root, named after the key), and press Check the file. Nothing is sent until the file is found; if it is later taken down, sending stops until you check it again. Once on, you can also paste page addresses to submit by hand, up to 100 at a time. Google does not take part — it reads your sitemap. Free.
